"The Physics of the Soul" Documentary

“The Physics of the Soul,” a documentary about the possible relationships between quantum physics and well-being, will be presented at Appalachian State University Tuesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. in 124 College of Education Building.

A discussion with filmmaker Frank Huguenard will follow the screening. The event is FREE and open to the public.

The 90-minute film features notable authors, scientists and researchers from the fields of quantum physics, biology and consciousness studies. These include Marilyn Schlitz of IONS; Gary Zukav, author of “The Seat Of The Soul”; Stuart Hameroff, director of the Institute for Consciousness Studies; Bill Bengston, Ph.D.; Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., author of “Biology of Belief”; William Tiller, Ph.D., of the Institute for Psychoenergetic Science; Dr. Garret Moddel of the University of Colorado and many others.

According to the filmmaker, “The Physics of the Soul” provides a logical and cogent argument for how the methodology of modern science falters when it comes to understanding consciousness and how the scientific paradigm must change if society and the health care system are to fully grasp the healing process.

In its review of the film, EXPLORE: The Journal of Science and Healing stated it “makes a strong case for the idea that we are spiritual beings living in a material world and that consciousness comes from outside the boundaries of the physical world.”

Huguenard is a scientist, spiritual anthropologist, humanitarian and documentary filmmaker. He said that like all people, he has a story but his story is not so important. Rather, what is important is that however the chapters of his journey have unfolded, he’s been able to take some of the lessons he’s learned in life and disseminate that knowledge and wisdom in documentary films so that others may learn from them.

The film presentation is sponsored by Appalachian’s Still Point faculty/staff contemplative organization; University Documentary Film Services; Beaver College of Health Sciences; Wellness and Prevention Services; and Staff Senate.
